MAAC and Bahir Dar University Sign MoU to Elevate International Academic Collaboration
Glad to contribute to strengthening collaboration between Ethiopian and Russian academia, building new bridges of knowledge and innovation.
The Multinational Association of Academia Collaboration (MAAC) and Bahir Dar University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening international academic collaboration, with a particular focus on beekeeping (apiculture), sustainable agriculture, and applied research.

This partnership is designed to establish sustainable and mutually beneficial institutional connections that foster innovation, knowledge exchange, and capacity building. A key element of the cooperation is the development of beekeeping as a multidisciplinary field linking biodiversity conservation, agri-economics, food security, and environmentally responsible technologies.

Through this collaboration, MAAC and Bahir DarUniversity aim to:
  • Develop joint research projects in the areas of beekeeping, apiculture science, agro-biotechnology, ecology, and sustainable development, addressing both local priorities and global challenges;
  • Facilitate academic exchanges for students, faculty members, and researchers, including field-based research and practice-oriented learning;
  • Enhance the skills and professional expertise of academic staff and industry specialists, strengthening education and research capacity in both countries;
  • Promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer in agriculture and related sectors for the benefit of local and global communities;
  • Build long-term bridges of knowledge and cooperation between Ethiopia, Russia, and the wider international academic environment.
We are honored by the trust Bahir Dar University has placed in MAAC and are confident that this cooperation will open new opportunities for advanced research, high-quality education, and cross-cultural academic development, while contributing to sustainable agricultural and environmental practices.

Together, we look forward to shaping a future in which international academic collaboration serves as a driver of knowledge, innovation, and positive societal impact.

A special thank you to the dedicated teams of Bahir Dar University and MAAC for their professionalism and commitment in making this partnership possible.
